One never knows when one gets a request from across the pond!  I was delighted to send a book over to Japan.  It is now across North America, Europe and in Asia.  Keep spreading the word!

If the plaque is in good condition in its oak frame, it would probably be worth $750.  If the patina of metal has been 'damaged' by polishing, if the metal has dents, scratches or the fram is missing, the value would be less.  Also the English version is more desirable than the French.

In 1927 the Dominion [as it was then known] government prepared beautiful copper plaques in oak frames and distributed them to schools across Canada. They were in English for everywhere but Quebec where the majority was in French, except for the many English dominated sections, such as Pontiac County that once existed. I have seen one of these plaques hanging on  the front wall of a school in ca 1970s Canadian made movie about a young Ontario school teacher who went West to teach in rural Saskchewan ca 1929-1932. For years before I saw the movie and after I have looked at any photographs of school interiors I could find in local history publications and other sources, hoping to find one depicting the plaque to go with my original to help confirm how they were used. ---have you ever seen such a photograph during the research for your book?
